Antibacterial Activity of TiO2 Nanoparticles Prepared by One-Step Laser Ablation in Liquid

Laser ablation in liquid was utilized to prepare a TiO2 NP suspension deionized distilled water using Q-switch Nd: YAG laser at various energies and times. The samples were characterized UV–visible absorption spectra obtained with spectrophotometer (UV-Vis,) Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM). While, UV-Vis showed the characteristic band-to-band peak of NPs UV range. FTIR analysis existence O-Ti-O bond. XRD patterns indicated presence (101) (112) plane crystalline phases TiO2. TEM images spherical-like structure size distributions depending on period. It also found that there is relationship between time distribution, where longer times led smaller distribution. antibacterial activity evaluated different species bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, Staphylococcus aureus, approach. optimum be against E. coli 1000 μg mL−1. Furthermore, adding, (1000 mL−1) amoxicillin has synergic effect S. aureus growth, measured by well diffusion method. However, both (11.6 ± 0.57mm) (13.3 inhibited this process.
